If you’re hiring developers, engineers, or tech leads, chances are your EVP is underperforming, not because of your tech stack or comp package, but because of how (and where) you expect people to work.
Here’s what current research says:
1. Hybrid wins, but control matters.
49% of professionals in Poland prefer hybrid work (Pracuj.pl, 2024). But here’s the catch: 41% expect to choose when and how often they come in.
2. Flex hours matter more than location.
40% of candidates declined offers due to rigid hours (Ardura, 2025). Time flexibility is now as important as location. Developers don’t want to log on at 8. They want to ship code when they’re at their best.
3. Full remote is shrinking, but still strategic.
Only 14% of professionals work fully remotely today (Pracuj.pl). But for specific tech roles, e.g. senior backend, DevOps, AI/ML, remote-first is still the default expectation. If your hiring is slow, check your location policy first.
4. Transparency isn’t optional.
Salary ranges, process clarity, tech stack detail, these are no longer “nice to have.” Candidates drop out fast when this info is missing (FF Solutions, 2025).
5. Culture signals are dealmakers.
Top engineers expect async workflows, clear communication, autonomy, and trust – not daily standups in person. Mental health support and work-life boundaries matter more than ping pong tables (ER Group, 2025).
If you’re hiring top tech talent, your work model is part of the offer. Flexibility isn’t a trend. It’s infrastructure.
