I’ll tell you the story of how Qualtrics, with itMatch’s help, achieved the supposedly impossible.
When Qualtrics decided in 2017 to build its Kraków engineering center using FAANG-level recruitment standards, most people said it couldn’t be done in Krakow’s competitive market. Especially since, just a moment earlier, one of the most well-known companies from this acronym, had given up its office in Krakow.
The challenge?
Implementing rigorous technical assessments, specific academic requirements, and introducing equity compensation concepts that were completely new to local candidates.
The result?
We proved the sceptics wrong.
Starting with the first 10 highly skilled hires, then scaling to 20, 30, and beyond- through ups and downs, today the Kraków office has nearly 400 employees with plans for continued growth.
Every single hire passed what many consider the most demanding recruitment process in Poland’s tech sector.

Note: This case study reflects data from last year – Qualtrics has continued growing since then, so the numbers are even bigger today.
I won’t pretend it was easy. It was incredibly challenging, and it took blood, sweat, and tears- not to mention thousands of working hours- to navigate that period successfully.
But this challenging expansion taught us invaluable lessons about navigating complex recruitment scenarios. These hard-won lessons make us the ideal partner for companies facing complex recruitment challenges- we embrace the difficult cases others walk away from.
Whether you’re planning your first international expansion or looking to replicate high-bar recruitment standards in competitive markets, I’d love to share what we’ve learned.
